With a smile and a shake of the hand Jo and Dean make their way to the room that Jamie is being treated in, following Doctor Williams lead. Ellen had left them to go and get everyone coffees and to phone Bobby to let him know the latest and that if he wanted to he too could come to the hospital. The more cuddles her little boy got she believed would help him the words the Pediatrician had spoken repeating in her head. Jamie had always been a happy baby who was always content in the arms of those who loved him. Jo longed to hear the coos of contentment from her son, the painful cries he had made before being admitted to hospital a memory she knew would not be easily forgotten.
Jo lay her head against Dean's shoulder again as they made their way to their son. Entering the room she placed the antibacterial wash on her hands as they quietly made their way to Jamie's cot.
