Jo returned from having a bath making her way back to the bedroom making sure to bring the baby monitor out with her. Exiting the bathroom the cries she had heard from Jamie grew louder and hinted that he was in some sort of discomfort, a sound Jo hadn't heard since he had his first injections at six months old. Taking off her towel she quickly threw on her dressing gown before peering at Jamie, finding the little guy red faced and covered in vomit. Picking him up from the cot she took her phone from the bedside table and rung her mother, he had been grizzly when he had spent the afternoon with her and Grandpa Bobby.
Placing Jamie at the bottom of the bed, Jo took out her phone from the drawer in the bedside table and pressed it against her ear, holding it so that she could change her sons baby grow as his cries began to space out but still contained the discomfort he had been previously displaying.
"Momma, there's something wrong with Jamie." Jo cried, worried that the past was beginning to repeat itself.

In the last six months Dean had learned more about himself then he ever thought possible and one thing for sure was, he would do everything in his power to keep his son smiling and happy and looking at him like he was the center of his universe. Of course he gladly shared that particular space with Jo.
With Jamie doing well and things settling into a routine, Dean had been doing his best to work on his relationship with Jo. He wanted to ask her to marry him but he was still too much of a chicken to do so.
He was neck deep in a Ford F-250 engine when the phone rang. His bosses voice called out saying it was for him. He answered the phone with a simple hello, but wasn't prepared for a worried sounding Ellen telling him that he should meet them at the Pediatricians office. Dean quickly spoke to his boss, passed off his work to his partner, and climbed into his prized car and drove the ten minutes to the doctors office where Jo, Jamie and Ellen currently were.

When Dean arrived he found Ellen sat in a seat closest to the entrance and Jo pacing the room as she hugged herself tight.

"They rushed him through, I've asked but there not telling us anything." Running a hand through her hair she cups Deans cheek with her free hand. "He's really sick, Dean... I can feel it."

Doctor Williams greeted them at the door as Jo asked whether it would be possible for her mother to be present during the consultation to which he agreed to and welcomed them into his office. The lump in her throat arose again as he told them to take a seat besides his desk and Jo noticed that Jamie was no longer in the room.
"Miss Harvelle and Mr Winchester, we will need to run further tests on your son but with the examinations which have been undertaken we believe your son is suffering with Pyloric Stenosis - a blockage in the stomach that makes it hard to digest food which is what has caused the high temperature and non bilous vomitting. You did the right thing Miss Harvelle by ringing the emergency services for him to be transferred here." Standing from his seat Doctor Williams came to sit on the table.
"From what I have told you is there anything you would like to ask?"

"I didn't mean to alarm you. While it's serious, it's easily corrected. What we will do is go in through the belly button and stretch the muscles around the pyloris so they can relax properly. He should be able to feed about 3 to 4 hours after that. He may still be vomiting for up to 48 hours afterwards, but nothing like he was before." Doctor Williams explained.
Dean nodded understanding what he said. It didn't sound absolutely terrible and while he was worried for his son, he had confidence in their pediatrician to take care of him.
"Hear that Jo, he'll be just fine."

"I have belief in your abilities, Doctor Williams. When Jamie was born premature you looked after him and you ensured that Dean and I were informed at every point of his treatment." Taking a deep breath Jo got to the point.
"I understand that its easily corrected but are there any risks we need to be aware of?" Taking her thumbnail back into her mouth.

"He's going to be fine, Jo. Your little boy is strong and this isn't uncommon. We'll fix him right up and he should be able to go home this evening or tomorrow morning at the latest." Doctor Williams assured her in a fatherly voice.

"You can hold him if you like, cuddles are highly encouraged. He's been a good patient but I'm sure he'd much prefer you over the nurses."

Jo lay her head against Dean's shoulder again as they made their way to their son. Entering the room she placed the antibacterial wash on her hands as they quietly made their way to Jamie's cot.

Dean watches them, his heart aching for not being there when she had needed him earlier. He was interruped with his musings when Ellen returned with drinks for them. She said Bobby would be coming soon to visit them and check in on his grandson.

Sensing Dean's musing she looked up at him, giving a smile she reserved just for him. "You got here as soon as you could, baby."

"Come and hold him." Standing up, Jo gently passed her son over to her boyfriend so she too could have something to drink.

"It was a 100% success. No complications and he came out of the anesthesia with no adverse effects. If you're up for it would you be willing to feed him, Jo? I dare say he's hungry."
Dean let out a breath he wasn't aware he was holding at the Doctor's explanation. He was relieved Jamie was going to be just fine.

"Thank you so much for taking such great care of our little boy." A breath hitched in her throat at the Doctor next words.
"That I can do!"
I suck at replying to you in a timely manner. I apologize.
"Thanks for helping my son." Dean says to the Doctor who nods, smiles and bids them goodbye with the promise of discharging their baby around 7pm just to make sure there aren't any complications.
No problem! x Let me know if you would like to finish here.
